Have to re-start to continue this travel blog again. I really enjoying writing but 'time' is constraint. So many things have to do or happen in our life. Some of the information may have forgotten as it was happened in Nov 2013 and now is Jun 2015.Hurray, the beginning of another new day. Yesterday was very cold but we had electrical blanket which kept us warm. I felt so refreshing although we woke up so early to see sun rise. Unfortunately, the cloud was too thick and block the view. Anyway, we were not disappointed as we also able to see other beautiful view at this B & B. I really like here and wish come back again and spend longer time here for solitude- 'Me time'.
There are plenty of flower around this house
He/ she is so popular
It looks like very light. Do you know why they have to prepare light breakfast for us? As we need to travel to other places by using winding and turning road. If you easily to get motion sickness, I strongly suggest you to have a pill before starting your journey. If I am not mistaken some of the vegetables in the salad were planted by the owner. Something I don't understand about toilet culture in Taiwan. We cannot throw the toilet paper into the toilet bowl which can cause choke. I feel so disgusting for the toilet paper to wipe my stool which I have to throw into the bin beside the toilet seat.
Hehuanshan is in between Nantou and Hualian and the Western edge of Taroko National Park. During Winter, tourists will come here to see snow.
Kunyang is the starting point for Taroko National Park if you travel from the West. This place used to be the camp for Japanese and KMT to explore central mountain range in Taiwan.
Wuling is the highest peak of Hehuanshan.
You can see the fog is so thick. I really want to salute to my driver and she kept us safe. However, I didn't enjoy much the rest of the trip as I had motion sickness and I vomited.
Bilu Sacred tree is the oldest tree along the Central Cross Island Highway. The fog made the tree became more mystery for me. I could not find the tree picture from my file, maybe, it is in my sister camera. You can see my vomitus in the below picture.
The moral of the story, take the motion sickness pill before your journey.
We ate at a restaurant near Pudu Bridge. I was not sure was it due to my motion sickness or I just didn't like the food there.
Pudu Bridge
Xiangde Temple. You have to use your number-11 to reach the temple. Besides, there is a church beside the temple too. You also can stay there according to a blogger, however, please don't expect 5-star environment and services.
According to my guide cum driver, these are the MeiHua/ Cherry trees. I believe during the blossom season the view should be amazing.
I really cannot remember the specific places for the Taroko National Park. Maybe I didn't post all the specific places which I stated above. This picture should be Yanzhikou as Jiuqudon/ Tunnel of Nine Turns has closed since October 2013. This area also floated with humans. Therefore, it was challenging to capture pictures without people.
Hey Mum, what are you doing here? This is my personal shooting.
I think this picture I captured at Buluowan. It has a cultural center- Atayal. You can see the aboriginal cultural stuff here.
I was unable to go to Eternal Spring Shrine (ChangChun Shi). As you can see from the below pictures, there were so many buses waiting the queue to enter this place. This is the place to recognize those people who died during the construction of Central Cross- Island Highway.
The beginning or the end of Taroko National Park. This road is also known as Taroko National Park Central Cross-Island Highway (東西橫貫公路)
On the way back to Hua Lian City, we came accross this church- HsinCheng Catholic Church. Too bad, the door of this church was closed. Therefore, we could not enter. The architecture for this church is very unique. As you can see from the picture, it looks like Noah the Ark. This building was built by Japanese during their occupation as to commemorate their soldiers who killed in HsinCheng incident/ Taroko incident. Those soldiers were killed after the incident of a Japanese molested a girl from Baoshilin tribe. Later on, this place turned into a Catholic church.
We had our dinner at Zhiqiang market. Some reviews claimed the food here is fantastic but I only feel there are edible.
I like this B & B too. However, the internet reception a bit weak. You can get your connection just outside your room.
